Amazon Kindles the UK's Imagination

Want to know the piece of technology I covet most? You probably have a good idea if you read the title and looked at the picture. In case you didn't, its the Amazon Kindle. The super thin, super light, digital book will start shipping on Oct. 19th in the UK for £175.

But you can get plenty information about that in the BBC news article. I want to discuss what the Kindle means for the future of business. There's a number of ways a Kindle can help your company.

1. Blog for Kindle Readers. If you already write a blog, you can publish it to Kindle. Its just one more way for people to read and stay connected to your company.

2. Access the latest news on the go. Even if you aren't publishing, you can still use Kindle to stay on top of the news. Don't want to bother with printed paper news? Get it on your kindle. So if you're stuck on the train or in line you can read all those blog posts you meant to catch up on.

3. Stay on top of your industry. People in your industry write great books all the time. Even slim little paperbacks can provide the tricks to push your business to the next level. The problem? Most of us don't have the time to drive over to our nearest bookstore and browse. With the Kindle you can order your next book without leaving your desk. And unlike online ordering, you can read it instantly.

4. Write an E-book. With Kindles becoming more common, now might be the time to consider publishing an e-book. Less expensive than print publishing, you can become an authoritative voice and a leader with just one book. Kindles have made e-books more popular because many people dislike reading more than a few pages on their computer screen.
