Bill Gates and Prescription Drugs

I truly adore Bill Gates, computer czar who is also one of the wealthiest people on the planet, for having gone ahead and formed the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, considered to be one of the largest charitable foundations in the world to be operated in a transparent manner.

Besides Microsoft, he is also known for his philanthropic activities and in the last decade has committed $4.5 billion for vaccines and prescription drugs. For the third world too he has promised a sum of $10 billion.

Some feel that rather than spending his money on medication he should be using the same money for offering food and shelter but I feel with rising healthcare costs across the world he has made an informed decision to help the people who are already suffering and can't afford to get basic healthcare facilities especially in third world countries. This in turn would go a long way in improving healthcare facilities across the world and give poor access to basic healthcare.
