Its the time of the year where people start worrying about the flu. But all year long you're worrying about your computer. There's always new viruses and new problems. Right now, there's no cure for the common computer cold, but there is antivirus software that can help prevent and protect.

But how do you know which antivirus solution is best? We've all heard of Norton and McAfee, since they so often come prepackaged with our computers, but let's do a few quick reviews to find out about some of the best antivirus software out there.

Norton: Norton apparently has one of the best scanning engines, meaning they can pick up most all viruses. The problem is, it takes a ton of system resources, which can slow down your computer.

McAfee: McAfee is one of the industry leaders and it certainly protects your computer, but firewalling your social online activities is not one of its strong points.

Bit Defender: The less known Bit Defender is one of the premiere antivirus programs. It offers real-time protection, is very easy to use (if you want to set it up and not have to maintain it), and won't mess with your computer performance.

Kaspersky: Kaspersky offers protection on multiple computers (up to 3 for the price of one). It also has a gamer mode (for your kids, right?) and protects Instant Messaging and browsing. They also have some solutions specifically for small businesses.

When it comes to antivirus software there are plenty to pick from but the most important thing is to have at least some kind of protection.
