Unplugged for a Day no comments

A few fearsome pitfalls exist in the plight of the active business man. Not many things can strike fear into his heart. A missed deadline, a fussy client, these he can handle with embattled wisdom and instinct. But anything that stops his ability to produce means near-instant death. Things like a delayed flight, a bad connection or worst of all, no power source.
It happens to everyone at least once. Either you forget a charger or something breaks, but you are left without a computer, cell phone or both. This can happen in less extreme situations where your power dies at a coffee shop but you left your charger at the office. Or it can be a hugely significant event, like leaving your cord at home while you go on a 3 day business trip.
Fortunately, you can still function unplugged. Here's how:
• Once you realize the problem, try to find a solution. Can you buy a new (universal, maybe?) plug? Can you borrow one from someone else? If you're out of town the hotel may be able to offer assistance. The point is, don't panic.
• Conserve Your Battery. If you realize you can't recharge and you need to work, conserve your battery life. Only use the computer when absolutely necessary, switch to power-saving mode and close all other functions while you work.
• Take advantage of the free time. Maybe this is the universe telling you to slow down a little. If no solution can be discovered, use this time to nap, read or spend time by the pool.
Do you have suggestions for an unplugged survival?
