Cisco's Containerized Server Rack

For situations where there is limited space to build or expand a data center, Cisco is providing a new solution in the form of containerized data centers. Cisco's modular infrastructure with a railing system enables site administrator to access the server rack, and the container is also designed to be power efficient and quick to deploy.

Bricks and mortar data centers can take a long time to build and require a big cash outlay upfront. The containerized data center, by contrast, can rapidly deploy anywhere in 90 to 120 days. The container can be sued for Cisco gear as well as third-party equipment from other vendors. Cisco containers can fit up to 16 racks of servers, delivering up to 44RU of available rack space. The modules also include built in fire suppression and humidity and airflow control systems.
