How Facebook Server Rack Saves Energy no comments

For more than a year a team of three very smart Facebook engineers set out to reinvent a server rack farm for the 21st century. The result of their work is the company's new data center in Prineville, Oregon which is revolutionary in every sense of the word, from its site selection and construction which did away with costly refrigerated air conditioning and plumbing to the design of the server racks, the power supply and distribution and the circuit board design.
This innovation has resulted in a new level of energy efficiency unmatched in the industry. In public comments Zuckerburg made clear that this is a win-win strategy for the IT industry, because it provides big cost savings of up to 24% on operating costs while also allowing companies to tout the bright green slogan that "Efficiency is Profitable."
